EXPERIENCE

Interventionist, Exceptional Student Services (Special Education)

GREAT HEARTS ARCHWAY CLASSICAL ACADEMY CICERO, Scottsdale, AZ

March 2023 - June 2024 

  • Advocated for scholars with learning differences and Other Health Impairments (OHI/ADHD) as a contributing member of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) Teams

  • Planned, prepared, and provided Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) to Elementary school scholars with Individual Education Plans (IEP) in academic areas related to their learning disabilities and IEP goals

  • Served as a Tier 3 Reading Interventionist for dyslexia, delivering the Barton Reading & Spelling System in 1:1 and small groups    

  • Provided Writing intervention and Inclusion Services for scholars with dysgraphia 

  • Worked collaboratively with Gen Ed classroom teachers, Specials teachers, and Related Service Providers (Speech therapists, OT therapists, psychologists) on the implementation of accommodations and modifications for students' curriculum access and goals 

  • Introduced new Assistive Technology applications for inclusion in IEPs of qualifying students for better curriculum access and pacing 

  • Analyzed and recommended improvements for Department systems with goal setting, progress monitoring, and scheduling for students 

  • Voluntarily attended a series of eight Professional Development (PD) courses at Great Hearts Phoenix Home Office Exceptional Student Services (corporate department); also sought out outside PDs to deepen my knowledge, teaching and support of student disabilities and shared the content and materials with my campus team

  • Served as a Volunteer Bard Competition Poetry Judge, and Volunteer Concierge at Archway's Annual Fine Arts Show
